Robert Hurley is a Taiwanese- American cello teacher based in Berkeley, CA where he attends UC Berkeley. He studies with and proctors for Jonathan Koh. Before Berkeley, Robert attended the Meadowmount School of Music, Boston University Tanglewood Institute, and Crowden Chamber Music Workshop. As a teacher Robert has worked with elementary and middle school cellists and string players at regional music camps.
Robert's teaching philosophy is centered around building strong foundational skills and inspiring a love of music. "I stress that students learn not only what to practice, but how to practice. Mindful, efficient practice gets results and provides a student with widely applicable skills for their entire life."
