PLAYING GOALS: WEEK 4

The Popper Etude #1 is our new piece to work on. We will start working on it after you have successfully played the Waltz at 100 BPM during your lesson.
When you are ready, take a look at the key signature and the time signature.
Remember, the time signature is 6/8, just like Barcarolle. So you should make sure that you are counting “1 2 3 4 5 6” in your head, or out loud, before you start playing the piece.
The difficulty of this piece is counting the long notes and playing all the slurs. You should start by learning the notes with pizzacato or with separate bows.
When you are ready with the notes, you should start learning the slurs. You should warm up by doing the bowing exercises line 5 and 6.
Good luck!
