Position Type: Position Type: Part-time, hourly, seasonal - August through June: contract renews by school year calendar Pay Range: Hourly- $35 - $38.00 per hour DOE Hours of Work: August 15 - September 6 Schedule: 11:45am - 6:00pm Monday through Friday General Schedule: Mon, Tues, Thurs, Fri 2:00 - 6:00pm; Wednesdays 11:45am - 6:00pm Reports to: Program Lead, Kindergarten Team Lead, Director of Operations, Executive Director Organization Overview Bay Area Music Project (BAMP) is an El Sistema-inspired after-school music education program supporting the educational and social-emotional needs of children in lower-income communities by providing high-quality music instruction, nutritious snacks and homework assistance regardless of abilities and circumstances. Our staff embraces both the social and musical mission of our program — they nurture both the individual person and the musician at the same time. Job Description We are seeking a creative and enthusiastic Teaching Artist for our after-school Kindergarten program (KinderBAMP) at an elementary school in Alameda, CA. They will lead a class of 20 students with the support of a teacher assistant and in collaboration with the broader AMP team. The Teaching Artist will create a strong classroom foundation that fosters a healthy learning environment, with a focus on play-based curriculum that supports student social and emotional development.
