Music Production Foundations

Record, arrange, and mix your own tracks in Ableton Live while learning how music is made from the ground up. Students build skills in beatmaking, rhythm, melody, songwriting, recording, and sound design, then bring it all together to create and share original music. From experimenting with sounds to developing a finished track, students get hands-on with the tools and techniques used by today’s music producers. No experience and no gear required.

Advanced Music Production

Take your production skills beyond the basics and start exploring what it takes to work in music. Designed for students who already create their own tracks, this twice-weekly program introduces the workflows, tools, and creative practices used by professional producers and audio engineers. Students dive deeper into recording, multi-track arrangement, mixing, sound design, and finishing music for release while building a portfolio of original work. Along the way, they’ll explore careers in music production, recording, live sound, and the broader music industry while developing practical skills they can carry into college, internships, and future career opportunities. No gear required.

GainUp

Get hands-on with the creative and technical sides of the music industry. GainUp gives girls and gender-expansive young people the opportunity to explore audio engineering, live sound, music production, songwriting, and recording while learning with professional tools from week one. Through hands-on projects, collaboration, mentorship, and exposure to working music professionals, students build practical skills and discover the many careers that happen both onstage and behind the scenes. GainUp is designed to build confidence, create connections, and open pathways into areas of the music industry where women and gender-expansive voices remain underrepresented. No experience and no gear required.

This weekly ensemble for intermediate and advanced string players in grades 5–12 explores a wide range of repertoire and musical styles. Students strengthen their technique, musicianship, and ensemble skills while taking on exciting new music and performing throughout the year.

Cello Academy · Intermediate

Designed for cellists with 1–2 years of playing experience, Intermediate Cello Academy is all about growing your skills, making music with friends, and becoming a stronger ensemble player. Through twice-weekly rehearsals, students build technique and musicianship while exploring a fun and varied repertoire across musical styles. It’s the perfect next step for young cellists looking for more challenging music and opportunities to grow as both individual and ensemble musicians.

Intro to Ableton Live

Learn how to turn your musical ideas into finished tracks. Get hands-on with your DAW as you create beats and instrument parts, record live instruments and vocals, design your own sounds, and learn the fundamentals of mixing and production.
