Nelssy started with Bay Area Music Project as a Site Assistant in March 2021 and quickly established herself as a positive mentor to students and a natural leader among her peers. Through BAMP, Nelssy discovered her passion for playing with and advocating for kids. As After School Program Lead, she’ll continue growing the relationships she has with the students, staff, and parents in the Maya Lin community. 
Nelssy has a bachelor’s degree in psychology from California State University, East Bay and has prior experience leading teams and working with college students on the spectrum.
When she’s not at work, Nelssy likes to train and hike with her dog, discovering new trails. She also enjoys singing karaoke and is a coffee connoisseur.
