BAMP CAMP - Online Safety Code of Conduct
To ensure a positive, productive and enjoyable camp experience for all participants, it is important that all campers and parents/guardians adhere to the rules, which include online behaviors for students and privacy guidelines for parents.
- Always be respectful and courteous to other campers and staff during camp virtual sessions. Inappropriate, offensive or threatening comments; misrepresentation of identity during Google Meet virtual check-in sessions will not be tolerated. This includes making mean comments about another student’s creation, participation, or their house/room in the video.
- Campers must use the email account provided at the registration to log into Zoom, BandLab, Flipgrid, etc.
- Login credentials and camp meeting IDs must not be shared.
- Sharing of login information violates other campers’ and teachers’ rights to confidentiality and could allow camp participation by unauthorized persons and/or lead to disruptive behaviors that detract from a productive and positive camp environment.
- Students who are disruptive and/or “trespass” Zoom virtual sessions will receive appropriate consequences in accordance with the Discipline/Behavior Policy bellow. Consequences may result in temporary or permanent loss of technology access, which would prevent the student from participating in Zoom virtual sessions. Campers receiving this consequence would have assignments provided to the campers’ parent/guardian.
Discipline/Behavior Policy
Camp staff is trained to model and enforce age-appropriate behavior guidelines and reflective communication. We encourage self-control, self-direction, responsibility and cooperation. We will do our best to provide behavioral support to any camper demonstrating a need or disrupting a camp. Open communication between guardians and camp is considered key in terms of effective discipline.
If the child’s behavior is extremely disruptive and/or harmful to themselves or others, a parent may be asked to remove the child from camp for the remainder of the day. Bay Area Music Project reserves the right to ask a disruptive camper to withdraw from camp and if such a situation occurs, will refund payment for the remaining days of the camp.
